I am married to a guy under social circumstances but my marriage has not yet been registered.the guy was not working at that time as well he is not good looking. but under social pressure i had to accept the marriage, the bridegrooms parents had given false promises that they would send the guy abroad to his sister’s place where we both can earn and live happily. based on the assurance the marriage took place. i am a corporate lady working in a good company. as i am a manglik girl as well my age was nearing 30 my parnets agreed to the praposal. now it is over a year, the guy is not yet woking as well there is no communication between the guy and his parents. they do not even call to enquire abt me or pay any expenses. they do not call me. i have left the job so as to live with them in the house but they do not call me. in the mean time i have a colleage of mine who wants to marry me as he is aware that there is no physical relation between my husband and me. so in that case can i marry my friend evn though the divorce has not yet taken place. How long do i need to wait for the divorce to be applied. do i need to pay any compensation if i marry before divorce. will the marriage with my friend be considered as legal. if at all i want it to be legal how should i get married?

1) Marrying without first taking divorce would be legally wrong.
2) You can file for divorce after one year of marriage. So as per the information provided by you you are eligible to file for divorce.
